Default Wanted used RDCs

Hello folks,
I'm looking to acquire a couple more used Aristo RDCs for my layout.
I am most heavily looking for an RDC-3 in any roadname (minus ATSF due to the red vestibules).
Also interested in an RDC-1 as well. Any roadname, pretty much any condition.

Thanks for looking!
Jeff C.

If you want real fun, try to find an RDC-4.
Since that non-passenger one has a shorter body, model manufacturers in all scales tend to avoid it.

Haha or better yet the elusive cab-less version, RDC-9, of Boston and Maine fame. Which, btw, is the route I am modeling.

Yeah, well since only an RDC-1 and RDC-3 were made, "real fun" would be any other RDC that was never produced.

Anyway, will be hard to find them, don't see them pop up on e-pray very often. I use mine as test locos since they have the worst overhang of any of my 1:29 rolling stock.

That's true Greg. I tnink a lot of folks find them and then have trouble with derailments and so on.

Oh yeah, a combination of long wheelbase, traction tires, and not putting the "flexible" axles outboard.

Easily rectified, although they are still sensitive to bad cross-level.

I'm still almost no help at all in that I have neither info on used RDC available somewhere nor one to offer; but, I can offer that this is a book worth having. Copyright 1990 by Golden West Books. And one of my favorite books, even if all the RDC models I own are two HO scale RDC-2.

I have the 1 and 3 which are pretty fair representations of the two that Santa Fe had. Both DCC with QSI sound. Traction tires removed, motor blocks switched, and lubed pivoting areas around the trucks.

Sounds like a nice set Greg. Did you do anything about the lack of interior on the rdc-1? Since I'm modeling the early '80s, my prototypes have darkened windows. I found some static cling film and applied them to the window strips. Now you can hardly see the difference between the 1s and 3s. I use the rdc3 as a cab car, so it's the only unit I have the lights on in anyways.

I intend to upgrade the interior in both. There was some talk of Aristo providing an interior for the older one.

I'll have to see what I can do, but it's fun to have them all lit inside. I forgot if I took the dark film out of one of them to match.

I'll probably try to match what the Santa Fe had:
