Default Other than Revolution or Not

Well I came up blank on a search and I apologize if there is a discussion on this already but…

I am a satisfied user of the Crest Revolution system, on board battery. I was late to the party in terms of converting to battery from track power but am quite happy I did. I still have a couple of locomotives to convert. With Crest winding [wound] up what other manufacture(s) do you use successfully for battery control. I am also considering just finding a couple of last Revolution modules and hoping for no infant failures. Thoughts and opinions please.

Thanks.

Are you in a rush? Word on the street is that the Revo will rise again... there's a buyer for it now. I suspect there will be a X-mass sales time rebirth....

John, dealing in rumors.

Star Hobby in MD has some Crest product, including the TX handset and RX module kits. Give them a call.

I have a new and a second slightly used revo (test bench use only) non sound receivers that need new homes.
I have sold several on the bay and will relist the new one again.

There is also a note "In Stock" against some of the items. Not on the Crest units.

As far as alternatives to Revo, Del's railboss line of cards does it for me. I use his simple card that works on 2.4 gig RC controllers so I can use the same controller on my RC battery locos and my live steam servo controlled locomotives. Very reasonable prices also

Regards

Jerry

Well, the Revolution has a unique niche in terms of functionality. Much more than the railboss, and less than DCC.

So it really depends on the feature set you wish, which way you go. To go "up" I would go with deadrail products and standard DCC decoders with sound.
