Default Bound for Texas: a run into the sunset

A finale firing of Art's K4 as it is homeward bound...an hour and half test run from late afternoon to early dusk

Charles.

That looks and sounds fantastic. As I have said before, cannot wait to run her.
Hard though to get too excited when tragedy has come during this season.

Art
Yes, it hit home in a dramatic fashion given the environment that I work in having the responsibility of safety and security for young people and knowing that it could occur anywhere at any time. Despite the training, practice and understand of procedures it is very difficult to deal with the reality and aftermath. Working on your locomotive allowed me to take my mind off the situation (along with the good fortunate that both my sons are well) and the "what if.."

She is here in Houston. Missed the delivery but will get her day after Christmas.

Looking forward to running her and using some of this coal and charcoal I have cut up.
Merry Christmas to all and to alla good and prosperous New Year.

Art,
Christmas a day or two later is still worth the wait. You must be like a cat on a hot tin roof. Really looking forward to seeing it run... be patient now...

Picke dup engine and have not opened box yet. A little chilly and I need to clean out a place in garage to open her up. Not gonna get to steam on track until next week.

Unless some one calls and steams up at Zube Par.
May just put her on rollers and fire her up for testing purposes
Oh well she is homem now.

One step closer to firing up the K-4. I finally opened box and the engine looks fantastic. Ryan did a bang up job of packing and there is not a blemish on engine.

This is first day of pretty weather and i do not want to take her out too soon. Supposed to get colder this evening and rain is forecast for most of weekend and next week.
Also concerned about one of our Houston Area G gauge guys. Had some horrible experience while in Mich and is in ICU. Cause is unknown and the guy is a real health nut and major cog in our Club here.
For those of you a mine to do so remember him in your prayers. His name is Terry Farghum.

Best regards for Terry's health, keep us up to date on the situation. Might I suggest a first firing roller run allow you the opportunity to setup, fire and breakdown without other aspects to concern yourself with.
