Default Butane tank or tender needed

Guys, I need a butane tank, or a small tender with a butane tank in it. The tank needs to be no more than 2.5" long (6.35mm), 1.5" wide (3.8mm), and 1.5" tall (3.8mm) although the butane filler can protrude from the top. Tank could be square or cylindrical as long as it fits that profile. If it's a complete tender then those dimensions don't apply, of course.

I haven't found one commercially. The Train Dept tanks are all too large, and the spares available from Ministeam are all vertical designs. Accucraft isn't showing any this week.

Anyone got a spare Accucraft 4-4-0 or 2-6-0 tender? Or a spare tank from something similar?

Round house has fuel tanks available, which might help your build.

Pete you say that the tanks I list from Regner are too large? The small square 1"x1" Regner tank is under your dimensions but I am sold out, I took of the site because regner took it off the catalog but I have received some after they have but are since sold out. Also if that was not large enough as it was only good for 15-18mins of fuel I offer tanks in any custom size as listed on my site. Can build one 1.5" OD x 2.5" long.

Jason, thanks. I wasn't thinking of a custom build. I'll send you an email.

Pete,

The Fowler/SRRL 24 gas tank is about the only one that will fit how you want. It is about 3.5" long x2" wide x1 tall Rest of theirs are too tall. Most are a cylinder 4"+ tall

Put the gas tank in a trailing car directly behind the locomotive. Little to no constraints on size (or gas volume.). Quick connect valves prevent blowback. If you want 110% confidence install a second valve at the tank to shut off the flow of gas to the locomotive burner(s) before shutting down gas flow at the burner to bleed off gas in the line.

Thanks Jason. I will send an email about a custom tank.
Roundhouse confirmed they didn't have anything small enough.

Chris - the trailing car idea is one reason I was looking for a tender (again!)

You didn't tell us what locomotive this quest follows. ???? So we don't know the scale, which would help.

Roundhouse also sells 3 small tenders separately. Look under;
Steam Locomotive Enhancements
https://www.roundhouse-eng.com/enhancements.htm

Roundhouse also offers a 3-Plank wagon which might me converted to a tender with a faux coal load to cover the gas tank;
https://www.roundhouse-eng.com/rollingstock.htm

A number of other sources offer wagons that could plausablly be bashed into a tender, with faux coal load, etc. And as with above all three of these possibilities depend on the locomotive and scale for which the tender is intended.
