Well, we had our first group steamup of the year, only we all did it on our own garden railways.
Very sad, but the right thing to do.
Here is a movie of mine.
Stay safe and well,

Hi All, we too have been having 'virtual' steam gatherings and sharing images between ourselves while keeping 'social distancing' down here in Melbourne Australia.
I dragged out two of my earliest loco's that have not run for over 20 years as I usually favor my D&RGW and French prototype equipment.
The well worn Aster Climax needed various repairs and a new burner but this isolation means I have now actually got around to fixing it and it's a great runner. The Aster shay makes heaps of steam but piston ring blow by meant it was a poor runner on the day so that is my next project.
I can't do video's sorry so here are some still images of the run that I hope you enjoy.
Russell

David;

Thank you for the video. I like the Bullied streamlined Pacifics. Built a OO Rosebud/Kitmaster version when I was in college. Even found the right shade of Humbrol paint (in Lancaster, PA of all places!). Also had the Hornby OO electric version. Alas, both of them are long gone now.

I also thought the goods train was really nice.

Best wishes, David Meashey

Hello David (Leech),

The Southern Railways trains on your video are both very nice, I like the coaches!
Did you really have more than one locomotive under steam? I tried that once on my own and ended up with a dry boiler on one of the locos

Regards
Fred

Hello Fred,
I used to have more than one loco in steam at a time when I was young and could 'multi task'.
These days I prefer to relax and enjoy just one at a time.
It's nice to be able to focus on the one locomotive and check that it's performing at it's best.
All the best,
David

Thanks for sharing Guys. I haven't had anything running this year, mostly focusing on repairing buildings and rolling stock.
