Default 360 Video Ride on the MM & BS RR

Take a trip around the Mt. Meterbox & Bare Sands RR in a 360 video where you can take a look around at all angles. Scroll or move your phone/tablet around to change the view.

This was my first attempt at a 360 video, you have to scroll or turn around to look forward. Best viewed full screen on YouTube app.

Mike;

Thank you for the video. It took me a bit of time to figure out how to face forward, but I was able to do it. The full screen was too distorted, but that may have been due to the size of my monitor. Everything was fine on reduced screen.

Best wishes,
David Meashey

That is great fun, very cool technique. But I would have to clean up my whole yard, now!

Thanks guys. The camera is 2016 model of Samsung Gear 360. Currently selling for around $67 shipped. It was not set to the highest resolution. It works best with a Samsung S7 or better, not my phone though. It does come with "Action Director" for PC which stitches the dual camera video into 360. Took a very long time to process!

I will try another one after I clean up the railroad. My operating season is coming to a close in a few weeks when I migrate north for the summer. Gotta take more video to watch when I'm missing the railroad this summer.

My 360 video is the featured reader video in the current Garden Railways newsletter.

Sweet! I want to do that with my railroad this Summer. That and some drone footage.

Later,

Still wanting drone footage on mine too! Had two friends with camera drones and said they would, but it never happened. Now they moved away.

Wow that is really some great video! Loved to ' look around' on your layout. Fantastic.

Actually what I also like is the fact you seem to run your trains and made your layout in your (front) garden, in public and accessible and enjoyable for neighbors and by-passers am I correct? That is amazing. Where I live that would not be possible. I would be afraid my LGB tracks would be stripped down for the brass and buildings etc would disappear overnight as well... Great to see this is possible in some places :-)
