Default Aristo 100 ton hoppers

I have several Aristo 100 ton hoppers and want to change them over to LGB Knuckle couplers. Does any know what kind of screw hold on the couplers. It looks like a hex to me and I have a bunch and none fit

Aristocraft had a unique way of mounting the couplers. Your best bet would be body mounted Kadees as they have a varity of different couplers for all manufacturers. LGB, USA Trains, and LGB had the same mounting method for their hook and loops. HLW was unique also. Note that you can get twice as many Kadees for the same $$ as the LGB knuckles!!

The Aristo coupler is not held on with a hex, just an ordinary screw.

Here is an extensive article about these hoppers and mounting Kadees, perhaps it will help.
Be sure to visit my site, lots of technical tips & modifications, and a functional search.
