LGB 2017 Stainz Motor

Early one based on the ball bearing . . thanks
And those brushed WOULD be a bear to deal with.

Dan Pierce Which motor was in your stainz? there are 3 different versions (not including Growler) of the LGB short shaft motor, and only one version is now available which has no easily removable brushes. Both older stainz motors had the red and black modules. difference in these was one had no thrust bearings and the motor block has a single ball bearing at the end of the shafts. Other had thrust bearings and the bearings were not needed.

LGB 2017 Stainz motor

Found my problem with the Stainz. Motor is toast. Turns a bit stiffly, does not respond with power applied directly to the two copper tangs that go to the brushes..Before I try to source an OEM motor, is there a suggested upgrade motor for the task?
